Centre for Social Studies

Centre for Social Studies (CSS) is non-governmental, non-commercial organisation, which was founded in 1994 by the group of scientists. The main directions of activities of CSS are theoretical and empirical research, consulting and training in different fields of social sciences.

CSS members include specialists, working in different fields both as an interdisciplinary team and as individual researchers. Focusing on Post-soviet transformation, CSS provides research, consulting and training in following areas:

Working group:

Tamara Berekashvili - coordinator, team leader, PhD, CSS leading expert, Head of the Informational and Analytical Unit of Research Department in Georgian Parliament.
Tamara Berekashvili, PhD, is philosophy specialist, also works in social and political philosophy. Has broad experience of social research and opinion polls. Published works and researches in political and social philosophy, sociology, and mass media. Speaks perfect Russian and French (besides native Georgian), fluent English.

Marina Muskhelishvili - assistant
Marina Muskhelishvili, PhD, with two specialities - mathematics and political sociology. Has conducted theoretical and empirical research on different aspects of institutional development in Georgia. Is involved in training and lecturing for students and civil society groups, is directing CSS activities.
