Lynn Basford
Lynn Basford is currently Professor of Nursing and Head of Nursing
at the University of Derby UK; President of the European Honours
Society for Nurses and Midwives and Chair of The Trent Institute
of Inter-Professional Practice Learning and Education. Lynn has
worked in the field of Health Care and Educational Practice for
over thirty years specialising in Community, Primary Care and
Public Health. Over the last decade she has commanded leadership
roles in health care education, developing and pioneering new
curricula models that have had national influence.
At all times Lynn has strove to triangulate education, practice
and research. Currently her research activities are centred on:
Public Health; coping with co-morbidity; sexual health in young
people; empowerment in the field of mental health; developing
a learning culture in Primary Care and Inter-professional web
based learning.
Lynn has worked with international partners from Europe, Japan
and the USA on a centenarian project and with the faculty staff
at Jagallonian University, Krakow, Poland on a three year TEMPEST
project.
Lynn is currently the Principal Investigator for the University
of Derby as part of the Inco- Copernicus project as part of the
exploration of Lifestyle and living condition and its relationship
to health in the CIS countries.
Katie Dann
Katie Dann (BSc, MSc) is the research associate for the Inco
Copernicus Project. Katie is currently in her second year of her
Ph.D. investigating the expression of health value and health-related
locus of control as an explanation of the maladapted health lifestyles
observed in the transitional CIS-nations. Her other academic interests
include social psychology, health psychology and empirical empowerment.
